Is That a Sagama?
A lot of situations will have something that's very bright and then omething that's a lot darker. So for instance, if you're standing in front of a sunset, the background will be a lot brighter than the foreground. And so what it does is it just takes both of those pictures, the dark one and the light one, lines them together. It produces one pixl for every pix in the image, where it chooses the best one.
