Do You Use Steroids for Septic Patients?

I think that based on data from many many years ago I think that using high dose steroids in the setting of septic shock like grams of steroids probably would be harmful. It's been shown that if you give the steroids hemodynamically the patients will improve but it hasn't improved mortality rates or survival as well. If they've received a drug that reduces steroid production such as a ptomodate that sometimes used in pain to make patients, then I probably would give steroids under those conditions just because of the risk of a sort of reduced steroid doses with it.
