The cold war began after world war two in 19 forty five, and lasted until 19 91. At the core it was communism versus democracy, east versus west. As canada was a member of the allied forces, we were allined with the us. Each side was racing to get better technology and trade secrets. It was just a huge fear that this tens would come to a head and the entire world would suffer.
