Unbridled Certainty Is Not to the Task
Sally Kohn: I think the certain faith is actually a diminished one because it prevents you from doing the thing that faith is meant to do, which is to open you up to something larger than yourself. An absolute certainty and conviction that you've got it all worked out is the least humble thing we can do, right? It's kind of claiming equality with God. And so yeah, I want to be certain that those things will be there tomorrow morning, right? She says she wants people to feel safe in their religious point of view.
