Silver Springs is still eight minutes long. Stevie says these lyrics are part of the story and we can't cut them. Ken says, if we don't shorten the song, then it may not fit on the album. And so they do get it down to four minutes and 33 seconds. But I think that, you know, it's a song about her breakup with Lindsay. She worked for several hours and I could see that poor Stevie was devastated by the process. Oh my God. It's so unfair that my beautiful song has to be mutilated.
