Predictive algorithms are invisible to us. We don't even think about it, but as you cite it, this very striking example that happened during the lockdown,. It shows that there are very harmful consequences that may be connected to the use of predictive algorithms. If you have no human intervening at the end to see what the algorithm proposes for decision making or in fact makes the decision, then we are in deep trouble. The data come already with a bias. In the end, there must be some kind of human oversight.
