Sherman: If there was no such thing as making half of a living sell drugs illegally, if there was no black market, that would mean that the choices available to underserved black men would be different. I think a lot of people think that if the choices were different, those men would basically just sit down on sidewalk grates. And i guess just petrify, that's not what would happen. They would seek legal work. So take that away at that unfortunate temptation, and then you start working on how they can build lives that are more constructive than the ones that most people selling drugs can have.
