In semiconductors, we often use gold based contact. In our lab, we are looking into trying to make sure we have very ultra low loss switches. What I'm trying to get at is the ultimate impact of semiconductors in manufacturability or scalability reducing costs. But all of this have some interesting science that we are solving.
