There are lots of areas of mediaeval philosophy that are particularly relevant for from the perspective of a contemporary philosopher. What i mostly work on these days is the history of the philosophy of psychology. And there's a fair amount in the middle ages that is quite similar, and that each can shed some light on the other. A justi two or three. One is, for example, what wilfrid sellers once sad as to remind you of  that the middle ages was when logic, like a knighthood, was in flower.
