The Risk of Government Bonds in the Zero Interest Rate Environment
Banks bought longer term gum and bonds, not super long, but maybe five year, maybe two year. When interest rates go up, the value of assets goes down. There's no way around that. God Frank: Bank regulations incentivize bankers to buy gum and bonds so there is no excess risk.
