How to Slow Down a Colour Memory Task

In an experiment, people were asked to name as many colours and towns as they could. If you can do both at the same time, there is no advantage over doing them separately. It seems that searching for memory in memory is a serial process. And i suspect this plays a very small role in how we think about problems.
