Epicurious says they're good for you. Most of us are eating significant quantities of oxalates, especially if we are trying to eat, quote, healthy. Oxalate was the first chemical we understood and used to help determine what elements make up different substances. It's really not a good thing to have running around. The body tries to get rid of some of it because it even forms in our metabolism but we're not built to be eating it every meal, every day of the year.
