The Thwaites Glacier and the Impact on Sea Level Rise
The Thwaites glacier is the widest on Earth, nearly 70 miles across from one side to the other. It's melting for some very particular reasons and if scientists understand why we'll have a better idea of how much sea level rise world will face in future. "Thwaites is like your ice cube inside your cocktail and the ice cube just starts to disappear pretty fast," says scientist Gemma Boulden.
