Some games aren't available in the English language so you have to do some research as to whether the cards or pieces involved are language dependent. There's actually a website boardgamegeek.com that like has every game in the world listed and it will tell you whether it's language dependent. much easier now with the internet I've ordered games from France when they're not available in the US yet. If you're looking at cards that have this paragraph's worth of description in German it's not great because I only know a very few words in German like the word for game.
