The History of Fires in the North Cascades
The North Cascades has been a fire excluded landscape for 100, 150 years. In the early 2000s we start to have what we're calling mega fires, which are fires that burn over 100,000 acres. And so they're leaving behind these giant burn scars of highly high severity burn. Most of our or a lot of our links habitat, most of our prime links habitat is mostly burned, very little unburned.
