The Future of Black Lives Matter

Afrofuturism describes itself as being a parentology, i.e. it's thinking about an ontology that is not yet become. One of the things I find most frustrating about some of the popular discourses around Black Lives Matter is the sort of framing of it as this destructive movement. There is such an important emphasis on Black joy, Black healing, but also the creation of life-affirming institutions like schools and mutual aid projects.
