Disinformation is a means by which the government in cooperation with private tech companies and civil society and geo groups, uses extra legal means to censor political discourse. In so doing, it essentially places itself above democratic constitutional procedures clearly above the voters and citizens of the country as its own self-legitimating system of power. It's actually something quite sinister, and it's part of a bigger movement that we need to take time to understand properly.
