The Americanization of Sports
In America, we're just used to the franchise model. I'm not sure everyone in Europe has quite embraced that same mentality. We don't really know what private equity investment is going to achieve for the sports that they are investing in now. It makes loads of sense because sports needs to be professionalized. But these ones that are already raking in billions of dollars in revenues, it's not as clear cut as to what the real benefits are going to be seen - at least from the fans perspective anyway.
