The Assassination of Vera Sasulich

Vera sasulich was born in smolensk in 18 51 into a family of relatively impoverished lower gentry. Fully radicalized before she turned 20 years old, zasulich spent her off hours working as a literacy tutor to educate workers towards dignity and self confidence. As a young woman in the 18 sixties, who was intelligent, precocious and with an instinctively rebellious spirit,. She was drawn into the nihilist circles where men and women considered themselves equals, unbound by the old, repressive, patriarchal family structures.
