In 2011 healthy volunteers reduced their sleep by about two hours on average, that led to an increase in snacking. And from what we know about excess amounts of energy, particularly from snacks that are also going to have the issues around being high salt and processed items,. These are going to exacerbate insulin resistance outside of the fact that the potential sleep mechanisms as well. So it just goes to show that if there is this potential association, whether or not it's concrete or not, it's sort of risk.
