In most cultures around the world, people have myths that suggest they intuitively are aware from introspection that their mind is not unitary. The original answers were based on the typical mode of exploration in science: to liken what you're looking at as a machine and then ask the sort of machine questions. So where does that leave it? Well, in my view, bang on track because the point is it's not about what they do, but in how they do it. And once you've seen that, then the whole picture forms itself, which is quite different from the old one.
