A lot of the chronic stuff is on top of an acute event, like a subluxation that happened over and over again. In my practice now, I took trauma call for a couple of decades, but I no longer take. So I see cold trauma that still needs plenty of surgery, but it's not acute. It's sub acute and then needs to be fixed in a delayed fashion.
