It's portant to know the background that you're dealing with. You can't just take the data at face value. This can be difficult with comparing different fossil sites. And i think its a really good point to make that it is often it might be easy to think that the continents have been round, but all the same habitats were still present. They were just shifting. But there were periods where deserts were much more common because of the shape of the land and the position of the land. There were periods where coast lines were more abundant or less abundant,. Like we have had times in our earth where this habitat was more rare just cause of how things were lining up.
