How Did You Write Crib?
I had to go out of my way to make jake's voice different from jean's voice. I didn't want him to be a hack a. There there are many reasons that crib succeeds, but i think one of them is that it's well written. As far as writing those chapters of the novel within the novel, i did everything i could to get out of it. You know, it wasn't fun. It was like getting back into the gem after you'd been on a cruise and gained 20 pounds. Is there any part of you that wants to finish crib? No, not really.
