The Struggle at Trotsky's Apartment
In 1929, Trotsky is expelled from the Soviet Union altogether, labeled a traitor to the nation. With Stalin's major rivals all removed, the path is clear for him to impose his very own brand of leadership. His first target is an economic revolution. There will be no return to Lenin's new economic plan or the watered down policies of the collective rule. He has not simply been disappeared into the shadows, and that is, he knows, about as much as he can hope for.
