The Use of Dwarf Strains in Forestry
Dwarf strains of trees could be used in forestry, according to a new paper. The authors say that semi dwarfism might also have benefits for wood and biomass production. Reduced stature could also result in less bending and slanting of trunks on hill slopes. This is against the current orthodoxy of forest tree breeding where height growth is emphasized.
