Data Governance and Data Quality

The classic lineage that everybody would think of when you hear the word data lineage is actually what also sometimes in literature is called horizontal lineage. But we will be talking more about what sometimes called business lineage or vertical lineage, which is basically about using business language to describe your data. If you want to define data quality rules that are understandable by your business people or even that business users can define themselves, they will not talk in technical terms of database columns and tables, but they will talk business language.
