The Chicago Tornado of the 1950s

It wasn't until April of 1948 that another F4 tornado passed through the Chicago area. Most heavily hit were the areas around 72nd and Stoney Island, 88th and Hermitage, and 73rd in Kimbark. The 1950 saw a spate of tornadoes with an F1 or F2 occurring in six of the ten years of that decade. According to data, there was only one death attributed to all those storms combined.
