The Issue of Illiterate Breakdown of Marriage and the Right to a Divorce
Several law commissions had recommended that this provision of illiterate breakdown of marriage and one party being able to get a divorce be considered. Why has this not yet happened? Well, I think there are two reasons for it. One is the more symbolic idea of marriage and that it is not something that should be walked away from simply on the whims of one party when the other party is not necessarily at fault. And the other more practical reason was that many women's rights experts also have cautioned against because it could be misused in a similar way as triple talah before it became outlawed.
