The Economic Reality of Energy Consumption
Think of energy as being machine calories, as being food for calories and thinking of machines as being slaves that are serving our needs. It's an extremely effective way of economizing our time. When you've got 200 people, the equivalent of 200 slaves working for you, that means you don't have to do much. Move toward heavily energy intensive economic production was essential toward the liberation of slaves and the dismantling of slavery.
