There's a whole class of missiles that communicate with the launch point optically. A lot of these problems were figured out in the sixties, so back when guided missiles were first created. All these things that we're talking about are solved on very deep levels. So this is not like a your lazer guided paint the target, like the end of the drug stopper. No, talking about the launch sight is giving direction to the projectile.
