Is the Party Making Mistakes?
The party's missteps hit the family hard at all the wrong times. I s i think she navigates this by saying as much as she is able to say, whilst also not crossing the tird ise lines that everyone has stotsro. So you maybe couldn't criticise an individual who was still in power. But he seems like he was pretty free to say things like, this family was starving during the great leap forward. Or just to talk generally about the way that society was affected by political decisions. In some ways, it's kind of true to how a family might view politics anyway.
