Parents should monitor what their kids are doing, especially if hygiene is going down. If they're neglecting or negating responsibilities, definitely definitely definitely approach them. I would venture to guess that this is a worldwide phenomenon. We just seem to be the epicenter for violence in this country and it's quite concerning.
