ACR is a software that's integrated into most smart TVs. It captures screenshots of every frame that plays on a TV and assigns it a fingerprint based on an average value of the pixels on screen. ACR providers do internally refer to the process as fingerprinting, but they do not mean the actual practice of device fingerprinting.
