section 75 of the consumer credit tax states that if you buy an item cost between 100 pounds and 30,000 pounds on a credit card, then the credit card company is jointly liable with the retailer. Chargeback applies to any plastic - it's not a law but rules of Visa MasterCard Dynamics say people should be able to get their money back. Virgin Media does not say in its contracts that it can do inflation-based price hikes so customers can leave penalty free once they're notified.
