Durobe suki, one of Gunbae's samurai, said he almost made it too to the ceremony. He would have liked to have seen Sakurai shamed at the ceremony on the following day but it was better to see him dead. Durobe attended the ceremony with Yumi by his side. She managed to dry her eyes and keep them that way, long enough out in public. The men came up in bow before Durobe, congratulating him on being restored. They barely had anything back then, but they had each other now. A samurai gives everything for his master, and Durobe had done it.
