The Importance of Thanksgiving

"I am very averse to love an unconditional affection almost as a diverse as I am to like eating and digesting food, but whatever, nourishment is not my bag," she says. "So the idea of being around a big Thanksgiving buffet with Lee's family while scary seems like it'll be easier because I can control myself in front of strangers [than] with people who love me." She writes: "Can I get out of this? Can I feign illness or injury? I'm not afraid about the people...being black and white, my whole life I felt like I fit in anywhere and everywhere"
