How Does a Father's Blessing Tie Into a Patriarchal Message?
A lower case p patriarchal blessing can be given any time from a person that's not even your father. These blessings are important enough that one is stored with the church records. When a patriarch puts his hands on your head, he is identifying the tribe through which you will receive your blessings and through which you'll bless others.
