Third paper looks at patients who are presenting to emergency departments with a fever of unknown source. And we mentioned earlier whether or not c t scans may be beneficial in identifying these sources. This time period, they had over nine thousand patients who came into the emergency department with a temperature of 38 point three degrees s or greater. They then excluded over three thousand 500 of these as theyd got positive findings. The key result was that 31% of them had their source of infection identified on their ct and 69 % did not. So if you get those factors more likely to find it on your c T scan than other things like co-morbidities such as mobidity and proitonian levels
