Right now we've got it as far as being a dictionary. So trivial converting from a string 123 to the number 123, but then a bit more complex, and converting that into a date object. There is like there's no ongoing debate about exactly like what you should try and coerce and when it gets magic. Most of that stuff just works. For example, the string format that Postgres uses when you use to JSON just works with pedantic. You don't even have to think about whether that's come through as a date or as a string until you're worried about the limit of performance.
