I think noticing cases where you might have committed yourself in the past to a particular belief structure is really helpful. Paul Graham has this great essay titled Keep Your Identity Small, where he basically says how hard it is to think clearly and objectively about things that are part of identity. And I see this happening even on the scale of like a single meeting like if I throw out an idea in a meeting and I'm, I haven't really thought about it too hard I'm just sort of suggesting it.
