The average pay of a nurse in Europe is £31,600. But the UK pays nurses less than Germany, Ireland and Spain. The way French pay for their social security is much more through the employer making big contributions. And so the amounts of tax and social security contributions that the employee makes are really quite low,. Much lower, for example, than in the UK.
