If Jesus gave a parable about like reincarnation, we would be shocked, right? Because we'd say, well, reincarnation is contrary to what Judaism and Christianity seem to teach. And so even if there are some narrative elements going on here,. the fact that the parables seem to include purgatory or something like it would be incompatible or pretty shocking if purgatory didn't exist.
