What's Going on Behind Closed Doors at the Fed?
Economists project the US economy grew 2.5% at a seasonally adjusted annual rate, following a 3.2% expansion in the third quarter. The Bureau of Economic Analysis will also release the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index for December on Friday. Core prices, which exclude food and energy costs, are projected to have risen 4.4% year over year, down from 4.7% in November. We're getting closer and closer, albeit slowly, to the Fed's target of 2.5%.
