Is There a Future for AI?

The more layers of AI you have, the more likely you are to get emergent intelligence that can do more complicated and interesting things. I feel like I have all these little processes in my brain that are all intelligent in the wrong way and use for different things. And there's this thing called consciousness that becomes aware of them and decides what to do with them. It would be cool if there's an AI that started to start up and then was able to write what I learned from my startup post.
