Short seller Matthew earl had his house broken into by two men in a car. They wanted to talk about wire card, the company that processed payments for online gambling and porn. Wire card was angry at matthew because he'd recently published an unflattering report on them. The short sellers are often accused of having tainted motives or colluding with journalists who publish unflattering reports.
