The concept of heaven and hell is actually kind of a new idea. The first person that we know in recorded history who kind of came up with this idea was the persian pophet zarathustra. He he had it like a threefold formula: Good words, good thoughts, good deeds, verses, bad words,Bad deeds. And he literally thought that it was a scale. You either went to heaven or you went to hell.
