She says she started creating for the internet back in 2003, but didn't think of herself as a creator until 2008. YouTube was first to call people who upload videos 'creators' In 2020, it had hit the mainstream according to journalist Taylor Lorenz. It's important to understand your own business so you can see what works and what doesn't - or at least be able to share that with others.
