The Importance of Kindness in Leadership

I think being nice and kind is different from being fair and transparent. Kindness is getting enough about the person to invest in them. I tell people you have to bring your heart and your mind to work because leadership is a privilege. You're not born with this God-given right to have somebody report to you. The only way you can do that is if you have the kindness to give them the message the right way, but the strength of mind to give it to them. But I try. I try every day.
