I'm not a tutorial learner. I need something real to dive into, and tutorials are great but they don't work for me because I'm ADD. And so I usually end up just grinding into getting my hands dirty and coding through some stuff in order to see how it works or what doesn't. Sometimes I'm like, man, I wish I just spent a little bit of time doing a little bit more research. It's kind of ironic given that I do tutorials for careers is kind of ironic, but I have a hard time focusing on it myself.
In this supper club episode of Syntax, Wes and Scott talk with Kenneth Lyerly about his career path into coding, and how he manages to hold two jobs.
